EAST OF SCOTLAND COCKER SPANIEL CLUB – 26 class Breed Open Show
SATURDAY 7 SEPTEMBER 2013
Thank you to the officers and committee for the invitation to judge your Open Show, my third breed club appointment - I thoroughly enjoyed the day.
DOGS
Veteran – 1st Williamson’s Rhuston Evermore with Budminteal, 7yrs Blue roan in good coat, handsome head with a good square muzzle, a well-toned and ribbed body with good forechest and upper arm, good deep rib and body of substance with nicely toned muscled rear quarters of good angulation making movement with good stride and keeping topline BVD & BVIS 2nd Smith’s Craigdean Franks A Million At Luanshya, 8yrs Blue roan with correct sized male head with bright eyes, well -toned substantial body with good size ribcage, legs of good bone with neat padded feet, in good coat and well presented, moved well and was an overly happy boy on the day.
Minor Puppy – 1st Bodzak’s Briconess Solar Flare, Golden boy with a nicely shaped handsome head with dark eyes of gentle expression, toned body of good size and proportion with nice upperarm and good lay of shoulders, rear quarters of good muscle tone, moved with confidence and keeping topline BPD ; 2nd Kennedy, Waddington & Low’s Lynwater Daydreamer, Blue roan of a happy character, good male head with dark eyes giving a bright expression, body of good bone and muscle with deep rib cage and neat feet, moved well with a lovely merry action ; 3rd Madigan & Fairbairn’s Grassmillees Mr Bojangle ; 4th Scotland’s Beach Grass.
Puppy – 1st MacLeans’ Lynwater Media Storm , Orange roan with a correct size handsome head, bright dark eyes and square muzzle, legs of good bone, compact body with good rib and in silky neatly trimmed coat, well angulated and moved soundly with a typical cocker action; 2nd Scott & Robertson’s Castleannan alba Gu Brath, Black & Tan with a nice male head and darkest of eyes, legs well off for bone with nice shaped feet, good strong body with toned muscle quarters and good coat, moved well but not so happy as 1..
Junior – 1st MacLeans’ Lynwater Wild Mint, Blue roan with correct size male head and eyes with bright expression, good forechest and reach of neck, legs of good bone with nice feet, rear quarters toned well with strength making him move with good stride and a very happy mover RBD & RBIS ; 2nd Kennedy’s Tipperlin Tumbling Dice, Blue roan with good male head, nice bright eyes and deep muzzle, good size neck on strong compact body with deep rib, good upperarm and well-toned rear quarters, moved well ; 3rd McCann’s Ansharo Rascal
Maiden – 1st Mason, Clubb & Mason’s Lynwater Out of Touch, Orange roan with correct size handsome head with nice dark pigmented eyes, neck of good length with nice lay of shoulders, good upperarm, short body with good rib and nicely toned with neat feet, muscled rear quarters of good angulation, coat in good condition, moved well with stride ; 2nd McLelland’s Ryanside Sultan Swing, Orange roan with strong male head, dark pigmented eyes, square muzzle, good forechest, legs well off for bone, body of substance and well-toned muscle making him a strong mover.
Novice – 1st Scott & Robertson’s Castleannan alba Gu Brath, Black & Tan, placed 2nd in puppy class.
Undergraduate – 1st Rodger’s Pembrokegate Dandy Lad, Black dog, nicely shaped male head with good muzzle, legs of good bone and neatly shaped feet, well-toned body with good rib and muscled rear quarters, plentiful coat, moved well with merry wagging tail
Graduate – 1st MacFarlane’s Lochranza Lord of the Isles, Gold dog with handsome head, dark eyes of bright expression, good boned legs and muscle toned body with good front and deep rib, coat in good silky condition but lacking some tummy feather, moved well.
Post Graduate – 1st Smith’s Craigdean Callimakokr at Luanshya, Blue roan that I have admired from the ringside and pleased he came to my expectations, correct size handsome head with dark eyes and deep muzzle, substantial body with good reach of neck, good upperarm, well placed shoulders, good size deep ribcage, legs of good bone with nicely padded tight feet, well toned rear quarters, in good coat and well presented, moved well with stride and cockery action, my BD & BIS ; 2nd MacFarlane’s Lochranza Lord of the Isles golden dog placed 1st in Graduate.
Limit – 1st MacFarlane’s Cooleela Rob Roy, a Black and Tan with nice shaped male head and eyes of dark gentle expression, legs of good bone with neat feet, short body of substance with good sized ribs and well toned rear quarters, in plentiful coat of good condition, a happy dog on the move.
Open – 1st Mason, Clubb & Mason’s Lynwater Red Kite Red, Red dog with correct sized male head with dark bright eyes and square muzzle, good reach of neck and forechest, nicely boned legs with neat feet, good sized rib and well-toned rear quarters, lacking coat under tummy on the day ; 2nd MacFarlane’s Coolela Rob Roy placed 1st in Limit.
BITCHES
Minor Puppy – 1st McLaren’s Bencleuch Bedazzled by You, Blue roan, pretty female head of correct shape with dark eyes of bright expression and square muzzle, legs of good bone with tight padded feet, good forechest and lay of shoulders, compact body of substance and muscle tone with good sized deep ribcage in plentiful coat of excellent condition and well presented, good strong rear quarters, moved well keeping topline BPB & BPIS ; 2nd Madigan’s Misperros Miami, Blue roan, pretty female head with eyes of sweetest expression, good reach of neck and forechest, legs of good bone, nicely toned body of good proportion and muscled rear quarters, moved well ; 3rd Garrett’s Carmelfair Dorada ; 4th MacLean’s Lynwater Celtic Rhyme
Puppy – 1st Moncrieff’s Mondale Blue Magic, Blue roan, lovely balanced female head with sweet dark eyes, good forechest and reach of neck, legs of good bone and tight padded feet, hard toned body with deep rib, well toned rear quarters, in good coat and neatly trimmed, moved well ; 2nd McCabe & McGregor’s Grandtully All That Jazz, Gold, sweet female head and eye with dark gentle expression, short body with good reach of neck and rib, neat feet, well toned rear quarters, moved happily keeping topline ; 3rd MacLean’s Lynwater Christmas Glow ; 4th Howsley’s Totenkopf Dutch Diva At Wishuswell
Junior – 1st Kennedy’s Tipperlin Morning Glory, Orange roan with lovely female head, dark pigmented eye of sweetest expression, square muzzle, legs of good bone and neat feet, good forechest and upper arm, good reach of neck on well toned body with deep rib and muscled rear quarters, in good silky coat and well presented, moved well keeping topline, a lovely girl RBB ; 2nd Moncrieff’s Mondale Living the Dream, Orange & White, nicely shaped female head with dark pigmented eyes, good upperarm and legs with neat shaped feet, well-toned body with good rib, silky coat of good presentation, moved well ; 3rd MacLean’s Lynwater Butter Fudge
Maiden – 1st May’s Lynshow Dancing with Hope, Orange roan with nicely balanced female head with dark eyes of sweet expression, square muzzle, nice reach of neck and good forechest, well toned body with good size rib and rear quarters, in silky coat, moved well keeping topline ; 2nd Scotland’s Think of Me, Blue roan with sweet female head and good dark eyes, body of good proportion with deep rib, rear quarters of good muscle with coat in good condition; 3rd Cuthill’s It’s a Kind of Illusion
Novice – 1st Kennedy, Waddington & Low’s Julmared Glad All Over, Blue roan with nice female head, good muzzle, compact body with good forechest and nicely shaped feet, moved well ; 2nd May’s Lynshow Dancing with Hope placed 1st in previous class ; 3rd McLelland’s Ryanside’s Lady Moon ; 4th Howsley’s Totenkopf Treacle Pudding
Special Yearling – 1st Neatham & Gribbin’s Shoogsea Peach Streisand, Orange roan with good size female head and nicely shaped bright eyes, good muzzle, well proportion body of good bone, lacking some tummy feather, moved well ; 2nd Kennedy, Waddington & Low’s Julmared Carnival of Lights, Blue roan with good shaped female head with eyes of sweet expression, compact body with good rib, moved with exuberance and needed time to settle.
Undergraduate – 1st Bodzak’s Briconess Winter Eclipse, Black & Tan with sweet female head and eyes of sweet expression, strong body with good rib and bone, in plentiful coat of good condition and well presented, moved happily with keeping topline BB ; 2nd McManus’ Carmelfair China Model, Blue roan with sweet female head, well proportion body of good muscle tone, moved well ; 3rd Williamson’s Budminteal Moon’s Light ; 4th Howsley’s Totenkopf Day Dreamer at Wishuswell
Graduate – 1st McCabe & McGregor’s Lujesa Goldikova at Grandtully, Gold with sweet female head, dark eyes with gentle expression, well toned compact body with good length of neck and in good coat nicely presented, moved well ; 2nd Madigan’s Misperros Mystical, Light blue roan with sweet female head, good muzzle, good size body with ample rib, moved well ; 3rd McManus’ Carmelfair China Model ; 4th MacFarlane’s Gooleela Maid of the Mist
Post Graduate – 1st Reid’s Shanaz Gaty, Blue roan with sweet female head with good shaped muzzle, strong compact body with good upperarm and ribs and well toned rear quarters, moved well ; 2nd Bodzak’s Briconess Summer Breeze, Gold with good female head with sweet expression, good reach of neck on nicely shaped strong body with good bone and muscled rear quarters, moved well but preferred the action of 1.
Limit – 1st Cartney’s Ryanside New Beginnings at Carlundie, Light blue roan with correct size female head with eyes of sweet expression, good forechest and upperarm, nicely shaped feet, compact body with good rib and well toned rear quarters, silky coat condition in need of more under tummy to complete this lovely girl, moved well with a merry cocker action keeping topline, I liked this girl ; 2nd Gray’s Shadowview Seabreeze, Blue roan with sweet female head, body in proportion with good forechest and ribs, rear quarters of good toned muscle, moved well.
Open – 1st Reid’s Shanaz Thistle, Light blue roan with sweet female head of correct size, good proportioned body with ample forechest and good ribs, legs of good bone and nicely shaped feet, good silky coat and well presented, moved well with keeping topline and pleasing to see a merry cocker tail action on standing still ; 2nd Bodzak’s Kenan Summer Solstice, Golden with sweet female head, good forechest and deep ribbed body in good muscle tone, moved well ; 3rd MacFarlane’s Gooleela Maid of the Mist
Special Beginners Dog / Bitch – 1st Madigan’s Misperros Mystical (placed 2nd in Graduate Bitch)
Val Smith Memorial Open Stakes Dog / Bitch – 1st Smith’s Craigdean Callimakokr at Luanshya, (placed 1st in Postgraduate Dog)
