Critique:  Mrs louise Harrison (Lourisma)

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge at this lovely friendly show
and for the first-class hospitality. I was impressed with the overall quality of
the dogs and have since learnt my BIS winner has now gained her title, congratulations!

Well balanced 9-year-old blue dog. Good reach of neck into excellent
lay of shoulder, level topline which he kept on the move, firm thickly
padded feet and well let down hocks from which he drove around the
ring. Best Veteran in Show.
2. MacFarlane’s Cooleela Rob Roy
11-year-old well boned black & tan dog. Short coupled and well
angulated hindquarters just not as balanced on the move as 1.

Repeat.
Novice Dog (1)
1. Scotland & Maclean’s Lynlochan Perseus
I loved this orange boy and was looking forward to seeing him in the
final line up, I feel he just needs a little more confidence with his
handler. Very balanced dog from any angle, tight dark eye, masculine
head and gentle expression, good reach of neck and lay of shoulder,
good return of upper arm, well angulated hindquarters, good width all
through, level topline. Although a little unsettled to begin with when
standing and a little erratic on the move he did move with drive. I really
hope with gentle handling he can gain confidence as he has great
potential to do well.

Special Award Classes
Judge: Mrs. Lynne Bevilacqua (Laelia)

Thank you to the officers and Committee of the East of Scotland Cocker Spaniel Club for inviting me to judge the special award classes at their show on 7th September 2019. I would also like to thank my stewards, Jane Smith and Stuart McCabe Bell for their help, ensuring that all classes ran smoothly.

Special Awards Puppy ( 2)
1. R Adams, Whinburn Ptarmigan. Red Bitch. Sweet expression and correct dentine. Good bone and substance, good reach of neck and good shoulder placement. Great topline which was kept on the move. Well presented. This youngster should go far.
2. S McacFarlane. Cooleela Heracles. Black dog. Handsome boy with correct dentine, good reach of neck, good bone and substance. Good topline held on the move. Not the same drive as 1.

Special Awards Post Grad (9) 4 ABSENT
1. M. Clelland. Belltrees Kandy Man. Lovely Red dog. Good masculine head, excellent bone and substance. Very cockery outline. Great topline held on the move. Well presented.  Good reach of movement.
2. K Torbett, Kirlinjis Muddy Puddle.  Lovely chocolate roan bitch, very sweet expression. Very cockery outline. Again, excellent topline and well presented. So difficult when dogs and bitches are in the same class.

Special Awards Open (5) 2 ABSENT
1. K Torbett. Kirlinjis Dare To Be Maid. Lovely Blue roan bitch, sweet expression correct in all aspects. However, quite hesitant on the move hence my long deliberence  on the result. I decided not to penalise as she was the best dog in the ring at the time.
2. Mr&Mrs D Neatham. Shoogsea Peach Streisand VW. Orange roan bitch. Correct dentine, good reach of neck and moved well. What a lovely girl. She showed so well, So calm. Lovely outline and so well presented, a credit to the owners.

Can I just mention the Junior handler?
She did such a fantastic job as the dog was somewhat hesitant initially and she did a great job settling him. She stood alone but so deserved Best Junior Handler
